If you are visiting Seoul, new to Seoul, or just haven¡¯t seen all the sights to see in Korea¡¯s tremendous megacity, I¡¯d like to recommend using the Seoul Travel PASS app and free program for foreigners. Thanks to this program, on a typically toasty summer Seoul day I had the opportunity to meet other foreigners in Seoul as well as tour the Yeouido area, experiencing pricey popular attractions at no cost.
We met at the subway station to begin our tour. When all tour members had arrived, we introduced ourselves and what we were doing in Korea. After that, we were guided to the 63 Building, where we showed our Seoul Travel PASS and gained free admission to the 63 City Big 3: Sea World, Sky Art, and the 63 Wax Museum.
The 63 Building¡¯s Sea World, not to be confused with the Sea World marine parks of the US, was impressive. There were plenty of sea creatures as well as other animals. My favorites were the otters, sugar gliders, iguanas, and seahorses. And I enjoyed having my fingers cleaned by some little fish in an interactive display.
After finishing up at the aquarium, we headed up to 60th floor to see the Sky Art Observatory. There was an art gallery as well as views of the Han River and Seoul cityscape. Unfortunately, it was quite cloudy that day so the view was less than spectacular, but I enjoyed looking at the art and relaxing at the cafe while planning my next visit to the observatory on a clearer day.
Our group joined up again to enjoy a free lunch at the 63 building and then set off on our Han River Cruise. This was my favorite part of the trip--seeing the beautiful scenery and cityscape around the Han River. I felt so lucky to be spending my afternoon floating through the Han and talking with new friends.
I¡¯m so glad I participated in the Seoul Travel PASS program. It was great to meet other foreigners living, working, and studying in Korea. It¡¯s easy to get stuck in a bubble of friends who work in the same job or program as you do, so it¡¯s always nice to have an opportunity to meet other people who are doing interesting things in Korea. Experiencing the attractions of Seoul for free, with new friends, is not an something to be missed.
Seoul Travel PASS, thanks for the great day!
